Cycle for Crumlin 2018 exceeds target
Yesterday's Cycle for Crumlin raised more than €20,000 for CMRF Crumlin, the fundraising body for Our Lady's Children's Hospital Crumlin and The National Children's Research Centre, according to organisers Murphy Surveys, writes Brian Byrne.
As well as individuals, there was strong participation from cycling clubs in the region, with representatives from Kilcullen, No 1 Fitness, Naas, Donadea, Caragh, Newbridge, Cut Bush, Wicklow, and Dublin groups among those wheeling out.
This was the fifth year of the event, and with previous years' funds totalling €45,500, the organisers have surpassed their ambition for this year to bring that total to €60,000.
Many businesses supported the event with services and gifts and prizes for those taking part included No1 Fitness Kilcullen, Fulfil Nutrition, Burkes Pharmacy Kilcullen, Apache Pizza, Briqo Catering, Lawlors of Naas, Fallons of Kilcullen, K-Leisure Naas, 3Arena, Kildare Flowers, and Dunnes Stores.
