Council to examine possibility for Athgarvan footpath

The possibility of providing a footpath from the traffic lights at Athgarvan towards the Mill on the Rosetown road is to be examined by Kildare County Council, writes Brian Byrne.

In response to a motion by Cllr McLoughlin Healy, the Council says the Municipal District Office will list the location to be surveyed and assessed for possible inclusion in the 2019 Road Works/Local Property Tax (LPT) Programme.

The report to the Newbridge-Kildare MD meeting notes that it may not be possible to install a footpath from the traffic lights to the Mill due to the road width restrictions and may require land acquisition and relocation of services.
