Childcare application raised in Dail
The application by Kilcullen Community Childcare Centre for funding from The Quality and Capacity Building Initiative (QCBI) was highlighted in the Dail this week by Deputy Martin Heydon, writes Brian Byrne.
The initiative is funded under the Dormant Accounts scheme and is designed to support key groups working with children.
Deputy Heydon noted the project to Minister for Children Katherine Zappone, along with three other Kildare projects — MOJO, the Strengthening Families Programme, and education supports for early Kildare school leavers.
“The four projects that have applied for this fund are all worthwhile and proven initiatives which are already providing support and assistance to young people in Kildare," the deputy said. "I emphasised my support for the projects and my view that any funds awarded would be very well spent."
The Minister confirmed that applications are progressing through the approval process, and the aim is to notify applicants by the end of this month.
