Sun shone for Teach na nDaoine run

More than 50 contestants turned out for the 5K Run organised for yesterday in aid of the Teach na nDaoine project, writes Brian Byrne.

The first man home was John Paul O'Brien of the Dublin Frontrunners in a time of 0:16:56,36. John Paul is originally from Kilgowan and was a longtime member of Crookstown Millview AC before moving to Dublin.

The first woman finisher was Emma Nolan (above) from St Laurence O'Toole AC in 13th overall position in a time of 0:23:24,22.

A large contingent from Kilcullen took part. The fundraiser made €1,800, and the organising committee have expressed their thanks to all who supported it, and to the sponsors for the event —  Walls of Kilgowan, Albert Keenan Digger Hire, Markus Landscape and Gardening, Eurospar Kilcullen, Jim Buckley, Seamus Togher, Nick Egan and Spar Ballymany.
