Garda appeal for long evenings vigilance

An appeal for people to be more vigilant about their home security has been made by An Garda through the local Text Alert system, writes Brian Byrne.

The request is made against the background of longer bright evenings, and home-owners should make sure their windows and doors are locked when they might be out in the garden.

Please also keep an eye on neighbours' property when they are on holidays and make arrangements for their own property security in similar situations.
