Texaco Children's Art time again
The closing date for entries for the 64th Texaco Children's Art Competition is Wednesday 28 February, with judging to take place in March, writes Brian Byrne.
Widely acknowledged as the longest running arts sponsorship in Ireland, five students from County Kildare won prizes in last year's competition. They were Special Merit Award, Imaginings - Self Portrait by Saoirse Hyland, Age 15, Coláiste Chiaráin, Leixlip; Special Merit Award, Frank Iero by Tara Neville Moynihan, Age 13, Coláiste Chiaráin, Leixlip; Special Merit Award, Having Fun At The St Patrick`s Day Parade by Max Dingley, Age 6, Monasterevin; Special Merit Award, My Favourite Movie by Emily Synnott, Age 6, St Laurence`s National School, Sallins; and Special Merit Award, Dublin Town by Aoife Keane, Age 6, St Laurence`s National School, Sallins.
Winners will be announced in mid-April, with prize giving to follow in May.
Applications may be made for Schools pupils or Individuals, with relevant application forms available from the competition website.
