Baking classes with Kenny and Armelle

If you have ever wished you could produce some of the tasty and fragrant goodies in Armelle's Kitchen shop on Main Street, well now you have your chance.

An inaugural 'Baking with Kenny and Armelle' class will be held on Saturday 24 March, all day from 9am until 4.30pm. In the informal setting at the shop, the duo will show participants how to bake easily in the home using traditional French recipes and techniques that they have perfected ourselves.

"Have you ever wanted to make the perfect éclair or has the bread always ‘let you down’?," Armelle asks. "We will give all the tips and tricks to getting the results you want (there are no tricks, it's all about precision and technique!)."

The day will include making chou pastry with sweet and savoury fillings, pastry cream with variants, sweet tartes, tartlets and quiches, crêpes with sweet and savoury fillings, homemade breads, and participants will be offered ideas for decorations, presentations and serving.

The class costs €120 per person, including recipes, goodie bag, a 2-course lunch in Fallon’s Restaurant and dessert with tea/coffee in the shop afterwards.

A 50pc deposit secures a place. If the class does not meet the required amount of participants it may be cancelled or rescheduled, and those who have booked will be offered a place at a later date.

All participants will be offered a 10pc discount on purchases made on the day in the shop. Bookings can be made by calling the shop during opening hours on 045 480697 or by email to armelleskitchen@live.ie.

This will be the first of a number of such class days during 2018.
