Kicullen Ladies hoping for a Southwest win
It has been an exciting fortnight for KBC with one semi-final, one play off for a place in the other side of said semi-final and one final still to come, writes Tara O'Neill.
Our Grade 3 Men (B) had drawn on points with Ballinabranna leading to a play off for a place in the Southwest Men’s League semi finals. Unfortunately, it was not to be as they lost the match by just one set. Our other Grade 3 Men (A) team went ahead and flew the flag for Kilcullen in their semi final but were also unlucky, and lost to strong Kildare side. Hard luck lads.
Some more Dublin District Cup games also got underway with Division 6 Men’s facing Eire Friends. It was not to be their night as they came away with a 0-3 loss. Our Division 3 Ladies also bowed out of the Cup this week with a loss to a strong Kilmessan team.
Our Grade 3 Mixed team got the Southwest Mixed League underway this week also with a 3-5 loss to Carlow YM. The eight-person team were unlucky not to get a draw with it all coming down to the last mixed of the night. Grade 2 Men’s played alongside their clubmates on Carlow YM’s other court but also suffered a defeat to a strong Carlow YM team.
Division 4 Men got their Dublin League off to a good start with a clean sheet over Mount Pleasant while Division 2 Mixed faced Boyne and came away with a 2-2 draw.
Well done everybody and best of luck to our Grade 3 Ladies in their final of the Southwest Leinster competition this coming Friday 24 November.
