Ballymore, Narraghmore, share in renewal funding
A walking trail in Ballymore and the development of a community space in Narraghmore are two local projects which have received funding from the Town & Village Renewal Scheme totalling €416,000 in the county, writes Brian Byrne.
The other three communities sharing in the funding are Ardclough, Athy Enterprise Centre, and Monasterevin.
The funding was confirmed today by the Minister for Rural Development Michael Ring. "This means that projects generated in these towns and villages can now proceed, bringing economic activity and development to the areas," local TD Martin Heydon FG said, welcoming the news.
The deputy expressed his appreciation to the community groups who worked to bring their projects to this stage, and Kildare County Council for engaging with local and business communities to identify them.
“Here in Kildare we placed a particular emphasis this year on projects which have the capacity to support the economic development of rural town and villages as well as their neighbouring townlands," he said.
