Anniversary Sale ongoing at Mart


The 50th Anniversary Sale of Leinster Co-operative Mart in Kilcullen has got under way this morning, writes Brian Byrne, in the presence of the Mayor of Kildare, Cllr Martin Miley Jr.

Pictured with him this morning are the Co-op's Chairman, Ger Smith, and its Secretary Michael Kelly.

Mart manager Jimmy Walsh is looking after a very large attendance at the event. A donated bullock will be auctioned at 2pm with the proceeds going to St Brigid's Hospice on the Curragh.

Also, the St Laurence's GAA Club Complex Development fund is selling tickets for a draw for a Pedigree Simmental Bull (below) and other prizes. The Draw will take place on 7 October.
