Women form group to campaign on Eighth Amendment referendum
A number of women in Kilcullen have formed a group to campaign in the upcoming Eighth Amendment referendum, writes Brian Byrne.
The decision to hold a referendum was a follow-on from recommendations of the Citizens' Assembly in a report issued in June of this year.
The Kilcullen Choice working group will be organising a group to participate in the upcoming March for Choice on 30 September in Dublin.
Anyone interested in joining the group, or helping with the campaign to Repeal the Eighth Amendment can email kilcullenchoice@gmail.com for more information.
The group say they understand if people might have a personal issue with this subject but they hope to provide a forum for other people in the community who feel strongly about the issue.
(Editor's Note: As is the Diary's practice in electoral and referendum matters, we do not take a side in reporting on the issues, and will endeavour to maintain a balance based on information provided. In all cases, we reserve the right to decide what to publish or not.)
