Teach project moving on

Just a short visual update on the Teach na nDaoine project, writes Brian Byrne, The foundations and subfloors are now in for the extensions which will make the drop-in centre a really functional space. Well done to all involved, and now they’ve gotten stuck in after a long wait for the various statutory certificates.

The Teach is being helped by a National Lottery grant and a range of local fundraising events, and much support has been given in kind by skilled tradespeople.

The project received full planning permission late last year, which includes the extension to the rear of the former Dispensary building that will make possible an extensive range of services, particularly to older people in the community, when it is completed.
