Halverstown CC on track for League win

Halverstown Cricket Club has almost secured the Leinster Division 13 League following a very close win over Bagenalstown 2 last Saturday, writes Brian Byrne.

Halverstown won by just three runs after an unnerving start at the bat which had the Club's three top scorers back in the pavilion for just 18 runs.

However, the ship was steadied and a defendable score of 159 was established before it was Bagenalstown's turn at the wicket.

An example of the very best of cricket match writing can be read here with the Club's own report of the game.

The final match of the season is next Sunday, at home against Greystones 3.
