Bricks exhibition
An exhibition of Irish made bricks including examples from Ballysax and Athy brickyards is on view in Newbridge Library during library opening hours, writes Brian Byrne.
The Ballysax brick-yard was founded by William Pallin of Athgarvan Lodge and supplied many of the bricks used in the Curragh Camp and other buildings in the Kilcullen area.
The exhibition is in association with the Kildare participation in National Heritage Week, which begins tomorrow. All are welcome.
Our picture shows one of the Ballsax bricks from Ber Coleman’s house on Hillside. The cottages were built over a century ago.
