JB Murphy wins silver in Portugal
Tonight in Portugal JB Murphy won the silver medal in the European Junior Elimination race, writes Liam Walker of Kilcullen Cycling Club.
JB showed that he has mastered the art of track racing and although he has very little experience of Velodrome cycling, he did not disappoint all who believed in his vast talent.
Riding ahead of the big field for most of the race, showing that he meant business to see off some of cycling's strongest nations, only the Italian rider was able for him in the last sprint.
This makes up for the below par ride in the team Pursuit yesterday when the Irish team could only manage to finish tenth.
