JB Murphy in European Championships

Kilcullen Cycling Club member JB Murphy will be taking part in the European Junior Track Championships this week, writes Liam Walker of Kilcullen Cycling Club. For the last month JB has been based in Majorca preparing for the event, under the guidance of Cycling Ireland.

JB will first ride the Team Pursuit as a member of the four- man squad, tomorrow at lunchtime. On Wednesday afternoon JB will ride the Elimination race (also known as the 'Devil takes the Hindmost') where the last rider on every lap is eliminated from the race. This is a new event for JB but he has been training hard and is looking forward to the races.

JB is the first Irish rider to represent his country at Cyclocross, Road racing and Track racing. The picture was taken last week when he met up with Caleb Ewan for a training spin ... Caleb is a world tour rider with Oriac Greenedge from Australia.
