Call for Kilcullen traffic calming
A request for traffic calming measures in Kilcullen will be made at the next meeting of the Naas Municipal District, writes Brian Byrne.
Councillor Sorcha O'Neill is asking for measures 'such as rumble strips' at both main approach roads to the town. She says this would combat an 'increasing number' of cars and trucks that are speeding.
The councillor suggests that the measures could be put in place at Moanbane Park on the north end of the R448, and near the Avondale estate at the south end of town.
Councillor O'Neill is also seeking the provision of a wheelchair-friendly parking space near the Town Hall.
The Naas MD meeting will be at 3.30pm on Tuesday 18 July, in the Town Hall in Naas.
