Herbie is 50 years in Brennans

It’s exactly 50 years since Herbie Sheehan got his first pay packet from Brennans Hardware, and since then he has become as much a fixture in the business as the counter, shelves and stores, writes Brian Byrne.

That length of time in one place provides an opportunity to recall many changes in Kilcullen business, development, and the people he knew through five decades.

He talks with me about some of these in this week’s issue of the Kildare Nationalist, published today.

Herbie will be retiring from Brennans in September.
