Full house for BedroomAntics
After beginning adult acting classes in Drama Dynamics in 2014, the group which has grown from three to nine finally took to the stage in Kilcullen Theatre last weekend for a one-off performance of a farce, 'BedroomAntics', writes Brian Byrne.
The play enjoyed a full house for the night and both cast and audience thoroughly enjoyed themselves.
The play was directed by the group's teacher Evelyn O'Sullivan, whose work with children in the town over the last dozen years has given many of them a great foundation of self-confidence for their future life.
The adult thespians included James Byrne, Eoin Houlihan, Margaret O'Loughlin, Esther Kiely, Beatrice Maxwell-Meaney, Paula Meehan, John Acton and Owen O'Sullivan.
The results of their initial six weeks introductory course, and seven weeks of rehearsal for 'BedroomAntics' is no doubt just a taster from what they are likely to do in the future.
A donation of €300 from the production is being made to Cork Arc, a counselling service to people living with cancer.
