Daylight robbery at Hillside

A burglary this afternoon left a Hillside family with their home 'turned upside down', writes Brian Byrne.

The robbery happened sometime between lunch and 3.30pm, and the perpetrators are believed to have entered the house from the rear garden.

The Diary understands that a sum of money was taken from the house, one of a number of cottages across the road from Centra Hillcrest.

If anyone in the area saw something suspicious around that time period, they should contact Kilcullen or Naas Garda.

The house will be examined by Garda forensics experts in the morning.
