Another rockin' night in The Spout
Brush Shiels, as well as being one of the best Irish rockers of his generation, is also extremely entertaining in his conversation with those at his gigs, writes Brian Byrne.
So in a busy but not uncomfortable Spout last evening, he engaged with everyone, and also revived memories of the golden days of Irish rock, soul and punk and the real Skid Row. The gold still glitters.
His long-time good friend Jimmy Aspell was also a key element of the night, and our own Shane McGrath of Harlequin … whom unfortunately the Diary was unable to stay to hear, but whose sound and lights systems underpinned a highly visual evening.
(And Harlequin are the feature band next Friday, 19 May, another date not to miss.)
A cracking night.
