New owner for River Cafe

The River Cafe is changing hands, and from 1 April will be operated by Paul Treacy, writes Brian Byrne.

The Cafe was opened by Katrina and Noel O'Connell in July 2013, and quickly became a central meeting place, especially at breakfast and lunch times, for people who appreciate good food, neighbourliness, and excellent coffee.

It has also been a local focus point for a number of fundraising events organised by Katrina and Noel for Crumlin Children's Hospital, in recognition of the amazing care given by the Hospital to their son Ollie (pictured above with Katrina).

"I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has supported The River Cafe over the last four years," Katrina says on the Cafe's Facebook page. "Kilcullen is an amazing town and the support you have shown to myself, Noel and our boys, particularly Ollie, has been truly inspiring.

"I would like to take this opportunity to wish Paul continued success at The River Cafe."
