'Consideration of roundabout' at Thompson's Cross
Kildare County Council will give consideration as to whether to build a roundabout at Thompson’s Cross, once the ongoing safety audit is completed, writes Brian Byrne.
Members of the Naas Municipal District were advised of this at their meeting yesterday afternoon.
The Council has also been in touch with the Department of Transport, Tourism and Sport (DTTAS) on the matter.
Any such roundabout would be a ‘major capital scheme’ and would have to be prioritised by the Council in its applications for Safety Improvements Works, a process which likely would not be made until the autumn.
Any application for an Exchequer Grant could only be to supplement the Council’s own resources.
