Steiner School workshops
A series of workshops for parents will be held at the Kildare Steiner School over the next few months, writes Brian Byrne.
They include one on The Art of Communication: how to get your child to hear what you say, on Saturday 11 February, which explores techniques on how a parent can resonate with the magical world that young children are experiencing. half-day workshop will be led by Sinead Uí Thiarnaigh, a Steiner Kindergarten teacher and parent of many years’ experience. The fee is €30 and booking is required.
Two related workshops on 4 March and 1 April are under the banner of Steiner Learning Experience for Adults, and take the teaching of Geometry in the Steiner method to awaken the inner child in parents to a world of discovery. It's a chance for many to relive the joy of learning they may have had as a child. Again, a fee of €30 applies.
A session on Saturday 6 May deals with Creative Discipline and the Young Child. This is an exploration of the inner 'instruction manual' for bringing up children which is within all parents. The workshop will equip those whose children have behavioural issues with a 'tool box' of positive practices. A fee of €30 applies, and booking is essential.
All enquiries to Kildare Steiner School, Rathargid, Dunlavin, Gormanstown, Co Kildare. Phone: +353 45 401919.
