Events in Kilcullen Library
Two upcoming events in Kilcullen Community Library will be of particular interest, writes Gerry O'Donoghue.
A Brigid's Cross tutorial will be conducted by Eoin Houlihan and his mother Kathleen on Saturday 4 February, starting at 11.30am. Rushes will be supplied and people of all ages are invited to participate in continuing this ancient Kildare tradition. There is no charge.
The 'Kilcullen to Katanga' event to be held on Thursday 16 February is the latest in the 'Memory Night' series. Staff members of Kildare Library and Arts Service will present a historical overview and context and local participants in the Congo Campaign will share their personal experiences.
Members of the audience will be encouraged to bring memorabilia and join in the discussion, which begins at 7.30pm.
