Relay for Life launches Memory Candles
Kilcullen Relay for Life recently received a generous donation from John Berney and the company he works for, JOL Covers, writes Sabina Reddy. They have provided us with a much needed weather proofed banner.
John presented this to us last Saturday alongside our launch of our Memory Candles. These are for sale for €5 and can be purchased in Shabby Chic Junkie and Secret Kloset Boutique. A Memory Candle can be purchased as a gift for someone, for family anniversaries or occasions.
They are not just on sale for the Christmas market but all year round. All profits will go towards The Kilcullen Group Relay for Life Fundraising which will be part of the Kildare Relay for Life. The 2016 Relay raised an outstanding amount of €112,897, which will go towards Cancer services for the County of Kildare. The Kilcullen Group raised over €2,000 towards that amount.
Apart from fundraising the Kilcullen Group has formed a bond and a support among the cancer survivors, family and friends of the group. We welcome anyone who would like to join us. This supports the ethos of Relay for Life which is not only a fundraiser but it gives everyone a chance to speak about their experiences of having been touched by cancer. Its important to talk and having people who understand helps enormously.
We are grateful for the donation from John and JOL covers and also to Jennifer and Antoinette from Shabby Chic Junkie and to Shirley and Anamaria from Secret Kloset Boutique for their support in the sales of the candles. (Photo by conorwilliams.com photography.)
