Medals for Kilcullen in Community Games finals
The 2016 community games national festival kicked off in Athlone last weekend, writes Papillon Rabbitte.
The festival runs over two weekends with over 7,000 children expected to take part in a diverse range of events.
Seventeen participants from Kilcullen are representing Kildare on the national stage, in areas such as, Art, Swimming, Cross Country, Handwriting, Duathlon, Marathon, 800m and Mixed relay events.
As the weekend drew to a close Kilcullen saw medals in the U10 Art where Ella Cullen took a 4th place medal, in the U13 Cross Country (individual) where Hannah Breen also took home a 4th place medal and Finn Cowper Grey who took a silver medal with the Kildare U12 mixed distance boy's relay team.
All our competitors put in great performances and did us proud. Well done to you all. We look forward another action filled weekend next week and wish those competing the very best of luck.
