Monasterevin for today's Walking Festival
Music, poetry and the ‘Venice of Ireland’ are the underpinnings of this afternoon’s featured event of the Kildare Walking Festival, writes Brian Byrne.
The tour of Monasterevin begins at 3pm, from the main entrance to Moore Abbey, and will provide insights to tenor Count John McCormack and the poet and Jesuit Gerald Manley Hopkins. The confluence of bridges over the town’s waterways will also be explored.
The walk leader will be Mary, who can be contacted on 087 2358355. The event is free of charge.
Again, the full programme is available here.
