Kilcullen Walking Club in train
A walking club for Kilcullen is being set up following a recent meeting between Camphill the Bridge, KARE and other interested individuals, writes Sarah Gillespie.
With the support and facilitation of Lorraine Kennedy of Kildare Sports Partnership, they started the ball rolling to develop a walking club which is to be rolled out in September.
It will involve three different walks, going out at three different times during the week. The early walk at 9.30am will be led by KARE. The day of this walk is to be confirmed. Another walk will set off from Camphill every Thursday at 1.45pm, returning to the community at 2.20pm. This will be managed by Camphill. The evening walk on a Wednesday at 7.30pm will be lead by Camphill‘s Marietta Cleary and our local librarian Julie O’Donoghue.
If anyone is interested in participating or leading these walks they should get in touch with Marietta at An Tearmann, where she is to be found most Thursdays and Fridays. Walk leaders will need to be garda vetted. Ben Gamble in the Camphill Bridge office has further information on this and will provide guidance and support to those undertaking this process.
