World class photographer giving Kilcullen class
The over-50s photography class taking place next Tuesday as part of Kilcullen Enterprise Town is being given by multi-award winning fashion photographer Dermot Byrne from Bray, writes Brian Byrne.
Dermot won the Irish Professional Photographers Association for Fashion Portfolio Photographer of the Year in 2011 and 2014, and he was also a finalist in the Top 10 Photographers in the World Portrait category of the World Photographic Cup competition.
The 90-minute class being held in Kilcullen Town Hall on Tuesday morning has already attracted a large number of local older people eager to gain some insight on how to make the best use of their cameras and camera-phones.
Dermot will illustrate his talk with photographs, and if numbers permit he will interact on an individual basis for those who want to. He has been a professional photographer for two decades, and has photographed everything imaginable, from weddings to babies, food to jewellery and buildings to executives.
The event is being organised by Bank of Ireland, which sponsors the IPPA, as part of Kilcullen Enterprise Town which takes place on Friday/Saturday 22/23 April.
