Enterprise Town launch, information meeting on Tuesday
Representatives of all community organisations and businesses are invited to the launch of the Kilcullen Enterprise Town project in Kilcullen Town Hall tomorrow, Tuesday 15 March.
The information meeting, beginning at 6.30pm and planned to last for just an hour, is aimed at bringing together representatives of businesses, enterprises, and community groups.
It will include a video showing how the Bank of Ireland-sponsored initiative has been conducted in other towns.
Details will be made available about the Expos, stands, and overall format for the April main event.
That weekend will include a Business Expo on the Friday evening offering exhibition and networking opportunities for all local enterprises. A Community Expo the following day will provide a similar facility for clubs and social organisations in the town. Guest speakers will provide motivational and leadership talks, and entertainment will be provided by local artistic and musical organisations. Involvement of local schools — primary and secondary — will also be a feature, and will include a Student Enterprise Award.
The Bank of Ireland 'Enterprise Town' scheme is a €600,000 nationwide initiative to boost economic activity in local areas. The idea was launched in 2013 and by the end of last year, more than 50 towns of all sizes around the country had taken part.
The Kilcullen committee for Enterprise Town is chaired by Bof I Kilcullen manager Jo McMahon, and comprises Cathy O’Neill, Noel Clare, Nessa Dunlea, Anne Flanagan, John Buckley, Ben Gamble, Jo Mallon, Stephen Kinneavy, Evelyn O’Sullivan, Brian Fallon, and Brian Byrne.
