Extra nights for sellout The Quare Land

The original four-night run of 'The Quare Land' by Kilcullen Drama Group has been sold out, and four more nights have been added due to demand, writes Brian Byrne.

Bookings as usual from Berneys Chemist 045 481497.

The two-hander play stars Vivian Clarke and Bernard Berney, playing a land developer and land owner respectively.

Director Eilis Phillips saw the hilarious play first while on a holiday in New York late last year and immediately decided she wanted to put it on in Kilcullen. When she got home she made contact with the author, John McManus, who is from Cavan.

Kilcullen will be the first amateur drama group to perform The Quare Land since it was first produced in 2010.

The play's original run was four nights from 13 April, and proceeds from the Gala Night on Thursday 14th (not the Friday as previously reported) will be given to the Dawn Walk for Pieta House, taking place in Kilcullen on 9 July. The four extra nights will be the Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday of the following week, beginning 20 April.
