Health, Social Media, Community Involvement courses

A Health & Wellness course beginning tonight, Wednesday 10 February, is one of a number of offerings from the Spring programme of Network Kildare, writes Brian Byrne.

The eight weeks course will explore the link between diet, physical activity, and a positive outlook on life.

It is being held at the Further Education & Training Centre in Jigginstown, Naas, on Wednesday evenings between 7.30-10pm. The fee is €20.

A course on Social Media for locally based Community Groups starts on Thursday 11 February, again at the Jigginstown Centre, starting at 7.30pm.

This also an eight weeks course, and will teach how to create and maintain a free local website for each participating group. Again, the fee is €20.

A six weeks course on Becoming involved in YOUR Community is on offer at the Teach Dara Community & Family Centre in Kildare Town, on Wednesday nights from 24 February.

The course will provide information on understanding the concept of community, community structures, and leadership. Again, the evenings begin at 7.30pm and the fee for the course is €20.

Network Kildare is an umbrella support organisation for voluntary community education groups in Co Kildare. It works in conjunction with the Kildare and Wicklow Education and Training Board (KWETB).
