New light on the 'Treaty'
An illustrated talk on 'The Treaty' that brought an end to the War of Independence in 1921 on Monday night, 7 December, will provide a fresh insight to the times, writes Brian Byrne.
It is being given by Naas historian Tom Keegan, who has been researching papers documented by a member of the secretarial support staff to the Irish delegation in London for the talks that brought the Treaty about.
The Treaty included amongst its signatories Michael Collins and Winston Churchill, and has been the subject of many studies and analyses over the decades.
The talk will be in the Town House Hotel in Naas, starting at 8pm, and is being organised by the Naas Local History Group.
