Moorefield-won cup in Macs
Things got a little wild last night in McTernans when the Newbridge-based Moorefield Ladies Football winners of the Junior A Championships brought the competition's perpetual cup for a celebration, writes Brian Byrne.
The Kilcullen connection was strong, the team is captained by very popular publican Mary Masterson's daughter Amber, who herself regularly captains things behind the bar in McTernans too.
When the bus arrived to take the 20 ladies further into the celebratory night, it was suddenly very quiet. But, we expect, it was going to get very noisy, in a happy way, wherever they were headed ...
(The team have also secured their place in the semi-final of the Leinster championship after a victory over Killucan of Westmeath.)
