Granny Aspell in documentary
A new film to be released nationwide on 25 September will feature the late and much-loved Bridget 'Granny' Aspell, writes Brian Byrne.
'Older than Ireland' by Snapbox Films is a documentary that tells the story of a hundred years of life as seen through the eyes of many Irish centenarians.
The film is directed by Alex Fegan, and a trailer is currently viewable on Youtube.
"Granny doesn't appear in the trailer, but the Director told me her interview is brilliant and very funny," says her grand-daughter Breda Kelly. "The interview was done only months before she sadly passed away last year. I'm sure there are many people in Kilcullen and afar that would love to see this film, knowing the character she was."
An official premiere for the film will be held in the Lighthouse Cinema in Dublin at a date to be confirmed. "It's for family members, which I'm sure will be an emotional evening for all."
We'll publish details of the locations where the film can be seen as soon as we have them.
