Council to raise motorway noise with NRA
Kildare County Council's Roads Department is to write to the National Roads Authority about the possibility of putting soundproofing panels along the motorway near Cnoc na Greine, writes Brian Byrne.
Councillors of the Naas MD were informed of this at their recent meeting.
The matter has already been raised with the relevant Government department by Deputy Martin Heydon, as long ago as last December, and there have been calls at local level for the provision of noise abatement measures.
Unofficial measurements suggest that sound levels from motorway traffic at Cnoc na Greine are four times those at the south end of Main Street.
