Cllr wants outside tables charges dropped

A call to drop charges on tables and chairs placed outside shops, hotels and restaurants, is being made by Cllr Rob Power, writes Brian Byrne.

In a motion before next week's meeting of Kildare County Council, Cllr Power says eliminating the annual charges for the facilities would help small businesses in the local economy.

Putting tables and chairs outside such premises are subject to approval under Planning and Development legislation.
