Remembering absent friends

As we start a new year, it is appropriate to pause and remember those who passed on during 2014. The Diary recorded the deaths of 34 people from or connected to the Kilcullen area at some stage in their lives. It is not necessarily a complete list, simply those of whose deaths we became aware.

They were Sarah Kelly, Robert Dunlop, Rose Fay, Nuala Egan, Catherine Ryan (née Bermingham), Paul Reynolds, Noreen Taaffe, Frank O'Reilly (of Naas), Joe Murray, Bobby Walker, Peter Clifford, Des O'Brien (of Dublin, late of Kilcullen), Sadie Lambe, Rory Mackey, Paddy Walsh, Jack Magill, Brigid Aspell, Gerard Murphy, Mary Prendergast, Suzanne Carey, Maureen Reihill (née Byrne), Colette McGrath, David McCarton, Michéal Bathe, Louise Brennan, Eamonn Glennon, Kevin Keenan (of Ballymore), Eileen Cawley, Peggy Conlon, Maura Spain (née Aspell), David Gray, David Kearney, Margaret McDonnell, and Ann Kinehan.
