Diary sets new records

The Diary recorded an absolute monthly record 65,302 page views in December 2014, ending a year of page views which reached 539,302, writes Brian Byrne.

Overall readership growth compared to 2013 increased by over 60 percent, according to Google Analytics metrics for the site.

The top 20 posts or subject groups of posts which attracted most specific inward traffic (apart from being read by the very much larger numbers of people who simply visit the Diary directly on a regular basis) were as follows:

Pubs, Music & Fundraisers; the death of Louise Brennan; Crime, Crime Prevention & TextAlert; the opening of J&A Shabby Chic; Kilcullen River Festival; the Viewpoint on Tony O'Reilly; Schools Activities; the Kilcullen Gospel Choir; the death of Brigid Aspell; Steve Kinneavey's Retirement; the Conroy Park 40th Anniversary Celebration; Aldi & the Kilcullen LAP; Grainne McGrath's Fun Run; the Car Crash on the Bridge; Closing the Dunlavin Road for a Garda Rally; the Sale of Castlemartin; a Review of 'House of Cards'; Cooking at Kalbarri; Recalling the Newbridge/Kilcullen Bypass; and That was 2013.

It's been some fascinating year. Thanks for being with us through it.
