'Vikings' rule for John

Local writer John Martin has won the Short Story section of the Jonathan Swift Creative Writing Awards, writes Brian Byrne.

He won the competition with his short story 'The Vikings', after having been on the Awards' short-list many times previously.

The Awards are organised by the Saggart Heritage & Arts Centre and also include a Poetry section.

John was presented with his award at a ceremony in Tallaght Community Library last Saturday by the adjudicator Maria Wallace, a Catalan/Tallaght author and poet.
