Badminton update
Kilcullen Badminton Club had another busy week in the South West League and there are five matches to report on this week, writes Enda O'Neill, PRO of the Club.
Firstly we report on Ladies 2 who played an away fixture to Ryston of Newbridge on Tuesday 28 October. Helen and the girls got a good 2-2 draw. The Ladies were also out on Thursday 30 October at home and had a fantasic 3-1 win against Annacurra, this result leaves Helen and her team top of their table with eight points, well done to Helen and the ladies on a good result.
Top of table Mens 2 were also out and they hosted second place Killoughy in a fairly one sided event. Enda and the lads won comprehesnsivley 4-0 putting daylight between the chasing pack. Mens 2 now top the table with 13 points with St Laurences on 9, Killoughy on 6 and CWMS on 3. Well done to Fintan, Vincent and Sean on a great result.
Darren's Mens 1 also had a home match against Johnswell and managed a good 2-2 draw. This leaves Mens 1 second in the table under Carlow YM and if the lads continue to take points at home they will make the finals.
Finally Mens 3 had a tough home match against Bough, Olivier and the lads were beaten in a close match 3-1. Even with this defeat Oliviers team are still on track for a semi final as they are joint top of the table with Baltinglass with 9 points. Bough, their closest rivals, are just behind on 6 points and Annacurra on zero who have yet to get points on the board.
