Prizes presented to CU Schools Poster competition winners
With some 174 entries, 2014 was a record for interest in the Credit Union Schools Poster Competition, Kilcullen CU Chairman Martin Burke said last night at the presentation of the local awards, writes Brian Byrne.
The winners in the 7 Years & Under were 1 Ella Cole, Scoil Bhride; 2 Adam O'Keefe, Scoil Bhride; 3 Stephen Horan, Brannockstown NS; Commended were Orlaith McCormack, St Joseph's NS, Halverstown; Oscar Monks, Brannockstown NS; and Katie O'Donnell, Scoil Bhride.
In the 8-10 Years category, the winners were 1 Nadya Dunne, Scoil Bhride; 2 Savanji Veeramuthu, Scoil Bhride; and Olivia Monaghan, Brannockstown NS; Commended were Kalina Slattery, Scoil Bhride; Ciara Lally, Scoil Bhride; and Ella Cullen, Scoil Bhride.
In the 11-13 Years category the winners were 1 Leon Cullen, CPC; 2 Nazar Romanic, Scoil Bhride; and Rachel Ward, Scoil Bhride; Commended were Anna Shaw, Brannockstown NS, Roisin McGrath, St Joseph's NS, Halverstown; and Fiona Kelly, Scoil Bhride.
The Special Category winners were 1 Lee O'Brien and 2 Stephen Sherrin, both of Scoil Bhride. The prizes were presented by Kilcullen CU's Youth Officer, Philomena Griffin.
