KBC Dublin District Cup update
Wednesday 5 November saw the start of KBC’s Dublin District Cup competition and five out of our seven mix teams were involved, writes Enda O'Neill, PRO of Kilcullen Badminton Club. First out were Olivier and his Mix 6 team who travelled to Skerries and our mix 6 team got our cup campaign off to a winning start beating the home side in a close 3-2 victory. This is a great result for Olivier, Nicole, Meave and Kasi.
Mix 4 captained by Chelsey were the second of our three teams that were out on Wednesday night. Mix 4 travelled to St Brigids of Dublin and along were determined to come home with a ticket into the next round of their cup and they didn’t disappoint. In a close match KBC came out the victors with a 3-2 win. Well done to captain Chelsey, Bernie, Martin and Darren.
Sinead's Mix 3 are the final team that played away on Wednesday and were hosted by An Caislain Nua. Sinead, Rachel, Murt and Dave came home with a great 3-1 victory in a difficult venue, well done to the team.
Our first of two home Cup matches was played on Friday 10 November with Dave and the Mix 1 team hosting Kilmesan and in this one sided affair Dave and his team knocked Kilmesan out with an impressive 3-0 victory, well done to dave, Lynsey, Norrie and Gareth.
Also at home on Friday night was Margaret and her mix 7 team. This was Margaret's first competitive game in over ten years and she came back with a bang!! Margaret and her team knocked Cabra out of the cup with an impressive 4-1 victory and a great re-start to Margarets competitive career, well done to Kathrine, Ben and David Mc on a great win.
