Picture raffle to raise SVP funds
The local branch of the St Vincent de Paul Society has received a gift of a painting to help raise funds for its work in the community, writes Charlie Talbot.
The painting, an original watercolour of the bridge at Carnalway, by local artist Ray Ryan, would make an attractive feature in a house, office, meeting venue, reception room, boardroom, clubhouse, restaurant or school.
The painting will be raffled by the Vincent de Paul and the draw will take place at 7:30 pm on Wednesday 1 October in the Parish Centre. Tickets at €2 each (3 for €5 or 6 for €10) will be on sale in the Vincents shop on main Street.
They will also be available on this Saturday 20th and next Saturday 27th outside Nolans Butchers, Eurospar and Centra.
