Publishing for local history

If you fancy yourself as a local history author, and would like to get some idea of the nuts and bolts of putting a publication together, think about a workshop in Newbridge Library, writes Brian Byrne.

Organised by Marion Corrigan and James Durney, both among the most experienced people locally in this area, there's an opportunity next Saturday, 17 May, from 10-11.50am.

Under the banner Publish and be damned: How to plan, write and layout a local history publication, the workshop is suitable for all budding authors and local history enthusiasts, as well as those interested in self-publication.

Booking is essential. The workshop will also be held on Saturday 24 May, a perfect antidote to the local election fever.
