More from KBC

It's been another busy week in KBC with firstly the visit of Irelands top Men and Mixed doubles player Sam Magee who took time out to visit us Thursday 14 November, writes Enda O'Neill of Kilcullen Badminton Club.

Sam spent two hours on court with KBC's Mixed 3 team. Sam’s focus for the night was on service return, net play, playing the flat game and movement on the court in attack and defence during games. Sam really enjoyed the session and was impressed by the commitment and dedication from the Mix 3 team. "I was very impressed by the group's willingness to listen and learn, plus they managed to put in to practice what I was preaching and I could see the improvement instantly." Sam's next visit to the club is Thursday 28 November and we look forward to welcoming him again to KBC where he will work with two teams. Thanks to Mark Phelan for organising the session.

In the respective league and cup games KBC had some mixed fortune, on November 8th Mix 1 had a DD League match against Ailsbury and won comfortably 4-0. Ladies 2 beat Annacurra in the SW League 4-0 and continue their great start to the league. November 10 saw Mix 2 lose to PLSC 3-1 in the D.D.Cup. Monday the 11 November saw Ladies 3 and Mens 3 visit Aer Lingus and Raheny, the Ladies losing 3-1 in the DD Cup, the Mens 3 also losing 3-1. Mens 3 were out again on the 12th this time beating Baldoyle 3-1 and as captain Vincent Coller said the team showed great 'bouncebackability'.

On November 14 the Ladies 1 team lost 3-1 to Kadka in the D.D.Cup and the Mens 1 also lost in the DD Cup 3-1 to Mount Pleasant. Well done to all.

Finally well done to KBC’s Aoife Trant who after winning the All Ireland Junior Camogie final in September picked up and All Star Award last week.
