Local author writes 'angels' novel
Kilcullen's thriving local writing scene has been joined by yet another publication, the novel 'Soul Mates from Heaven' by Oliver O'Hanlon, writes Brian Byrne.
The theme of the story is two souls in Heaven who are in love with each other, hoping to be able to get together again when they are sent down to be the spirits of two new babies on Earth.
It's a complex but intriguing tale, set mostly in County Kildare because the author says it's where he knows best. The soul mates do manage to get sent down to Earth at the same time, but don't immediately get to know each other.
The tale moves between various interactions which the two have with a wide range of people in their quest to meet each other again. The author freely admits that situations and characters are drawn from incidents and people he has experienced and encountered during his many years living in Kilcullen.
Oliver O'Hanlon lives at Silliot Hill and is a specialist cattle breeder, notably Wagyu from Japan which are highly prized in a number of countries. One of the characters in 'Soul Mates from Heaven' also breeds Wagyu.
The book is available on Amazon in Kindle format, and in paperback from the author.
