Gold for Keenans at weekend
The Kildare Cross Country season kicked off this weekend in Suncroft with the County Masters and Novices races taking place among a full programme of events.
The men's race over 3000m with athletes representing most County clubs was fast and challenging.
Kilcullen's Albert and David Keenan were flying the flag in their Newbridge AC colours. Albert cruised home in the masters O/60 category and David won the race outright claiming both the individual gold and also team gold.
With their Gold medals in the bag they now represent a father and son combination who are now both County Athletics champions for 2013 in Road, Track and Cross Country ... the hard work paying off.
