Kilcullen Community Games athletes win gold

Winners and great triersThe Kilcullen team won two gold medals at the weekend All Ireland Community Cames Finals in Athlone.

Lisa Aspell took gold in the Girls U/14 Hurdles and Grace O'Toole won hers in the Girls U/12 600m.

A fourth place was achieved by the Girls U/14 Relay, while the Girls U/12 and Girls U16 Relay teams left at the Semi Final stage while Ruth Murphy qualified for the Final of the Girls U/16 1500m and Cliodhna O'Connor competed in the Girls U/16 Marathon.

There was disappointment for Jake Murphy who was initially awarded the bronze medal for the Boys U/12 ball throw, but unfortunately the competition had to be re-run due to the officials making an error and he finished 5th in the re-run.

Well done to all athletes who represented Kilcullen at the Finals.
